Hi!
My name is Anna Thomassen and I am a 18 year old girl who will be taking a gap year this upcoming year, 2014/15.
I am norwegian (and proud), but I have lived in Luxembourg for the last 13 years, where I have attended the International School of Luxembourg. Before (hopefully) starting to study medicine at university I wanted to do some learning outside textbooks and explore “the world”. I am not traveling the world in 80 days, but i will visit Cape Town, South Africa and Grenada, an island in the Caribbean. I will stay at each place for 3 months each and after that – we’ll see! At each place I will be doing voluntary work; in Cape Town I will work at an orphanage and in Grenada I will volunteer for the Jason Roberts Foundation.
I’ll be updating regularly to keep family and friends updated with my travels!

I produce the BBC Radio 4 obituary programme Last Word in the UK. I have only just found out that Pat Cavendish O’Neill has died and therefore I am keen to pay tribute to her.

I’m happy you found this post.
She did indeed unfortunately pass away the 11th of June.
I stayed at Pat’s farm just outside Cape Town for 4 weeks and I was fortunate enough to get to experience her life close up there.
I would be very happy to contribute to an interview, but I also know some people who knew her even better than me if you want some more insight or some others to interview. Just let me know and I can send you their names.
